Part of the staff that has recently joined Newtone Associates is specialized in Business Continuity Management. This team, formerly part of Orga Consult, has created Business Continuity Plans for over 50 different companies across all sectors.
Business Continuity Management (BCM) plans are usually divided in different sectors:
Building loss - Business Continuity Plan (BCP): fire, floods, terrorism
People unavailability - People Management Plan: sickness, pandemic, loss of a team
IT - Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP): local server breakdown, service provider failure
The objectives of the creation of a continuity plan are the following:
Limit the disaster’s impact on the activities and meet the deadlines for the resumption of work;
Maintain the minimum level of service throughout the crisis;
Set-up a crisis management structure;
Eliminate the consequences of the crisis as soon as possible, and coordinate the internal and external efforts.
The role of a continuity plan consists of:
Providing the persons involved with the available information, necessary to manage the crisis;
Defining in terms of organization, the roles and responsibilities of the persons involved and the actions to perform.
